To select and VIEW information about Heurigen, just follow these simple steps:

1. click on the "VIEW" link in the left frame.
   
2. select a city from the drop down list
   - only cities for Heurigen that are already in the database will appear in the list
   
3. click the Next button
   
4. select a Heuriger from the drop down list
   - only Heurigen in the selected city will appear in the list
   - names of Heurigen preceded with an asterisk (*) indicate that these Heurigen have a web site
   
5. click the Next button to display information about the selected Heuriger
   

To view information about other Heurigen in the same city, press your browser's back button and repeat step 4. To view Heurigen in another city, start from step 1

List All Heurigen in the Database [VIEW] [MODIFY] [RATE] [ADD] [H-Links] [LINKS] [top of page]

To list all Heurigen in the database, simply click on the LIST ALL link in the frame to the left. Note: As the database grows in size, this process could take quite a few seconds to complete, especially if there is a lot of traffic on the Internet and if you have a slow modem. If the listing takes too long, press the STOP button on your browser or click on another link in the list to the left to initiate another function.

To select and MODIFY information about Heurigen, just follow these simple steps:

1. click on the "MODIFY" link in the left frame.
   
2. select a city from the drop down list
    - only cities for Heurigen that are already in the database will appear in the list
   
3. click the Next button
   
4. select a Heuriger from the drop down list 
   - only Heurigen in the selected city will appear in the list
   
5. click the Next button
   
6. follow the instructions on the page entitled "Modify Information for a Heuriger"

1. click on the "RATE" link in the left frame.
   
2. select a city from the drop down list 
   - only cities for Heurigen that are already in the database will appear in the list
   
3. click the Next button
   
4. select a Heuriger from the drop down list
   - only Heurigen in the selected city will appear in the list
   
5. click the Next button
   
6. fill in the form and press the SUBMIT button

To ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is contained in the Heurigen database, the following process is used:

• visitors to this site can fill out and submit the "ADD HEURIGER" FORM,

• the information will be verified by the database administrator, and

• once verified, the information will be added to the Heurigen database.

To ADD information about Heurigen, just follow these simple steps:

1. click on the "ADD" link in the left frame.
   
2. fill in the form and press the SUBMIT button

The objective of the Heurigen Database on the Web is to list every Heuriger in Austria and to provide details about when each is open, where each is located, et cetera. Knowing that the objective is difficult to achieve, the "H-Links" page contains links to additional web sites about Austrian Heurigen.

Some of the sites have a "Kalender" (English for Calendar), which are important because true Heurigen are only open at specified times during a year. If you intend to visit a Heuriger, you should check to see which Heurigen are open by either consulting the Heurigen Database on the Web or by accessing one of the sites listed on the "H-Links" page, which is accessed by the hyperlink in the frame to the left.

To assist you in locating Heurigen, a LINKS PAGE has been added. This page contains links to sites like "TISCOVER", which is a terrific site for locating cities, towns and villages in Austria and for finding out about activities that take place in them. In addition, there are links to information about:

• taking buses, trains, streetcars, the subway (in Vienna), and boat cruises on the Danube (Donau),
• general tourism information, which includes hotels, restaurants, and night life and
• "money matters" links, which includes links to a currency converter and information about tax free shopping in Austria.

There is also a special list of links for visitors from Canada (since the author of this site is Canadian).
